The Working Memory Test Battery for Children (WMTB-C) provides you with an accurate assessment of working memory in 5 to 15 year olds.

Working memory assessments at school entry are highly effective in identifying children at risk of failing to achieve expected levels of attainment in national curriculum tests. The WMTB-C can be used to predict attainment levels in Key Stage assessments and of special educational needs status. In particular, the WMTB-C is sensitive to specific learning difficulties including Dyslexia and Specific Language Impairment.

The test provides a useful supplement to LEA baseline assessment schemes, and is particularly useful in identifying children at risk of failing to achieve expected levels of English. Unlike most baseline assessments, the WMTB-C assesses children's capacities to learn, rather than what they have already learned. Also, as the tests follow a span procedure children spend very little time failing on tasks (which can be a negative experience for them).

WMTB-C includes:

• 3 measures of Central Executive function: Listening recall, Counting recall and Backwards digit recall
• 4 measures of Phonological Loop function: Digit recall, Word list matching, Word list recall and Nonword list recall
• 2 measures of Visuo-spatial Sketchpad function:
  Block recall and Mazes memory.
