Wokingham Parents Awareness Course – Register your interest

The Dyslexia Action Egham Centre will be running a Parents Dyslexia Awareness Courses in Wokingham, starting on Thursday 26 April.

The course is in partnership with Wokingham Borough Council and will be run by specialists qualified in providing advice and guidance about dyslexia. It will give parents an insight into dyslexia, how it affects individuals, practical techniques for supporting children with literacy and numeracy at home and other forms of support available.

The course will consist of 7 x 2 hour sessions, with parents attending sessions 1-5 & 7 and parents and their children with dyslexia attending session 6 to work together using fun resources and the techniques parents have learnt in previous sessions.

The course aims to improve parents’ confidence in supporting their children and help families work together to build literacy and numeracy skills. Attendees will also be provided with a free learner support resource.

The course is for a maximum of 30 parents and costs £18 per person.
