Rob Booth - 1 Man 2 Wheels
04 October 2011
Rob Booth is traveling from UK to New Zealand by motorbike in 2012!
The best description of his plans comes from Rob himself.
Rob, so what is your trip?
“I'm planning to ride from
Bridport, Dorset, UK
all the way home to
Upper Hutt, Wellington, New Zealand
, all on my lonesome. So this is the plan for my little adventure... I have a ordered new bike, a
BMW Adventure Triple Black
from
CW Motorcycles in Dorchester
which I pick up when I get back to the UK in Dec. The bike will be kitted out with lots of gadgets from
PowerMotion UK Ltd
so you can all keep track of me as I travel across the world. I plan to set off in
Jan 2012
over to France through Europe to Turkey, through lots of countries ending in 'stan'... China along the Silk road, Laos, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore over to Australia and back home to NZ. It's going to be an amazing adventure of thousands of miles over nearly five months!"
Why January 2012?
"I have been riding bikes since I was big enough to hold one up, its a passion, almost an addiction, so I thought at this time in my life when both my daughters are all grown up and I have no real responsibilities or commitments and I'm a bit bored, stuck in a rut, I should do something worthwhile. I am supporting
Dyslexia Action
on my trip to raise money and awareness for an amazing cause and prove that being dyslexic should never hold you back. "
Why Dyslexia Action?
"When I went to school dyslexia wasn't recognized, so I was never offered any help and was labelled difficult or disruptive and even sent to boarding school for naughty boys and I left school with absolutely no qualifications. That, however has not stopped me from doing anything. It's been hard at times, really hard, but I am determined and have achieved everything I have ever set out to (with a little help, of course!). Thankfully dyslexia is now recognized and
Dyslexia Action
do an amazing job helping and supporting people and their families, so I am asking you guys to do the same and give generously to this amazing charity.
We can't wait for you to start!
"I will keep you all updated as the planning goes on and when I finally set off will keep you all updated with photos, videos and even live tracking. Please show your support to this amazing charity.”
