FREE information sessions for Parents and Carers

Dyslexia Action is a partner in the Empowering Parents and Carers (EPC) Project, which is supported by The Dyslexia-SpLD Trust (DST), working with The British Dyslexia Association (BDA), Springboard for Children and Helen Arkell.

This collaborative project aims to provide valuable information, resources and support services for parents and carers.The project will provide support to a wider reach of parents and carers of children and young people with dyslexia through drop-in sessions, awareness talks and events and workshops at different locations around the country.

All sessions are aimed at helping parents and carers support children with dyslexia and related literacy difficulties.

  • Evening sessions will take place where parents and carers can drop in to speak in confidence to trained specialist teachers, helpline supporters, skilled volunteers and other parents of children and young people with dyslexia.
    Come along at any time within the advertised time period.

  • Saturday morning sessions will follow the evening sessions and will provide awareness of dyslexia and other difficulties. Please come at the beginning of the session.*

  • Saturday afternoon sessions will offer an opportunity to discuss issues with other parents and to gain advice on how to support your child at home. Please come along at the beginning of either of the two advertised afternoon sessions.

  • No booking required!

    * Winnersh Saturday events are all in the afternoon.

Parent Champions

We are also looking for volunteers who are passionate about helping parents and carers of children with dyslexia and specific learning difficulties. Can you spare an hour a month to help families in your local community?
