Nottingham 2-day Parents dyslexia awareness course

A 2-day course for parents who would like to learn more about dyslexia and how they can support their children in overcoming this specific learning difficulty.
Who should attend?This course is aimed at parents of children with dyslexia.

Why attend?This 2-day course is given by specialists qualified in providing advice and guidance about dyslexia and other literacy difficulties.

The course will give parents an insight into dyslexia and will cover:

  • What is dyslexia
  • How dyslexia can affect individuals
  • Practical techniques for supporting your child
  • Further support available


This is also an opportunity to meet other parents and share experiences.


ProgrammeThis course consists of 2 sessions, both of which take place 10:00am-2:15pm:

Session 1: Friday 23 March
Session 1 will give parents an insight into what dyslexia is and tips and strategies for supporting children at home.

Session 2: Friday 30 March
This session will cover spelling rules, how dyslexia can impact maths learning and Dyslexia Action's DIY Readers' Support Pack.
